Epsom Salts

Epsom Salts with the chemical name of magnesium sulphate. Epsom salts dissolve easily in warm water & the magic begins. The magnesium and sulphur are released from the salt crystals, creating a solution, that is then absorbed by the skin. Magnesium has an abundance of benefits. It can help our bodies produce melatonin, which is the hormone that promotes better sleep. As the magnesium is absorbed into the body it may assist in easing pain and relieve inflammation making it useful in the treatment of muscle pain, post workout TLC for muscles and reported to even ease migraine symptoms. The sulphate in Epsom salt helps to remove toxins and heavy metals in the body. As skin is a porous membrane it absorbs the benefits of magnesium. By adding the mineral in the bath it triggers the process of drawing harmful toxins from the body.

Epsom salts can also help relieve stress, chemically of course! Stress depletes magnesium in the body and increases the level of adrenaline. Through the skin and refilling, Epsom salt absorbed the magnesium in the body. It helps promote serotonin, a chemical that elevates mood in the brain that cause a sense of calm and relaxation. Magnesium ions will also help to make the body feel more relaxed and reduces irritation by reducing the effects of adrenaline, creating a relaxed feeling, improve the quality of sleep and concentration, & helps muscles and nerves function better.
